This is a low budget western movie. I doubt that the original cinema audiences were anticipating (or did see)fey, sissy elements. It is unlikely that they would have given much thought to the hero,s hat or whether he might be a club member( was NOT). Mc Coy,s " fast draw gun " was genuine as forum members who read the IMDB review well know,

Even then, about 10% of the audience surely DID see these things, but back in those days, they didn't live in a culture that would allow them to openly talk about it.
